Begin with how you use the kitchen
List the practical problems you want to solve: not enough usable counter space, inconvenient storage, worn finishes or appliances that do not suit your household. Put them in order of importance.
Decide whether you are updating the existing kitchen or changing its arrangement. Cabinet installation, a backsplash update and new flooring can have very different coordination needs from a complete redesign.
Confirm appliance dimensions early
Choose which appliances stay and which will change. Share the exact model information with the people planning the cabinetry and installation, including manufacturer clearance requirements.
An appliance’s advertised width is not the entire installation plan. Doors, handles, ventilation requirements and access for installation should be checked before cabinets are ordered. Avoid assuming that a replacement will fit because it belongs to the same product category.
Review storage and doors as a complete layout
Think about what you use every day and where it belongs. Consider how cabinet doors, drawers, appliances and room doors will open together. A plan should support everyday use as well as look good in a photograph.
Have the final measurements and layout checked before placing an order. Keep a record of the approved dimensions and selections so the installation team is working from the same information.
Coordinate counters, backsplash and finishing
Ask how countertop measurement and installation fit into the schedule. Confirm where the backsplash starts and ends, how exposed edges will be finished, and which trim or wall repairs are included.
Clarify who supplies each material and who coordinates the trades. If the work changes plumbing or electrical systems, discuss the scope with the appropriate qualified professionals before proceeding.
Plan for the days when the kitchen is unavailable
Discuss which areas will be accessible during the work and where deliveries and materials can be stored. Set aside essentials before work starts and agree on a way to communicate questions or changes.
Send Budova photos, your location, your priorities and any product selections when requesting an estimate. A clear brief helps us identify the next steps for your kitchen project.
